Saturday Meals

On Saturday morning, I fixed myself a peanut butter and egg sandwich with milk. Then for lunch I had a chipotle burrito and sweet tea to drink with it. The burrito had rice, beef, corn, lettuce, sour cream, and cheese. Before I had my last meal of the day I had stopped by a convenient store an got a Arizona drink and some Grandma’s cookies. Since I had been out for most of the day it was getting late and nothing was open besides McDonalds and from there I got a McChicken sandwich and small fries. Finally as I got in the house that evening before I went to bed. I just had two Oreo cookies and a glass of pineapple soda. As my diet differs from all McDonalds dieter Morgan Spurlock because every day I probably won’t get a chance to eat that much food that is a product of “Toxic Environment.” I believe my diet is a “toxic environment” only to a certain extent because during the weekday being stuck with school and basketball I don’t have a whole lot of chances to eat at fast food places, whereas on weekend I have more free time and able to go out and eat wherever.

Baby Borrowers #2

Having a child comes with many responsibilities and priorities because once you have a child there is no turning back. If i was to have a child my life would change in so many ways. I would first start off by looking for a stable job that would pay me enough to take care of my child. Then If i was to have time I would try to take some college classes, yet it wouldn't be everyday of the week. A child would effect my social life because i wouldn't have as much time to spend with friends and I certainly wouldn't hang out with them as much as I do now. A plus about having a child would be that it will make my family relation a lot better being that my mother loves children and when my sister had a child they didn't make her feel down or tried to kick her out for having a baby at a young age. I have plenty of friends who think they are ready for a child, but they think its all about going with them to the playground or changing there diapers. They don't realize that bringing a baby in this world means everyday you must think about your child before yourself.

Baby Borrowers

In the T.V show "Baby Borrowers" there was 5 teenage couples who for the first time was living with each other. A majority of the teens thought they were ready to be parents, yet all the couples went through many ups and downs during there experience of being parents. As the babies arrived the couples relationship had changed dramatically as each couple had been in a argument about who would stay home and take care of the baby or they was frustrated at the baby crying. Going into the show I don't think these teens expected the harsh reality of being a parent. They realized that taking care of a child wasn't only changing diapers or feeding them there bottle. The couple I think changed the most was Alicea and Cory because before the babies had arrived there relationship was strong an they thought they were ready because both of there parents had them at a young age. As the episode went on Alicea started getting irritate at the baby because he wasn't eating as a result of that she took her anger out on Cory. If my partner was to get pregnant our relationship would most likely get stronger because I would never want to leave her and I would make sure everything was taking care of so it puts no burden her. Parenthood affects a couple relationship because at the end of the day it doesn't matter about the arguing or the disagreement the parents have to make sure that your child is taking care of.

Commander & Chief

President Barack Obama, Americas new commander and chief, to me is a symbol of progresive change in our country. Obama's symbolism is depicted very well through the "War and Freedom" quilt that displayed many historical men and women in service. Obama inspires the youth community to make it known that anything is possible. This possibility became evident on January 20th, when Barack Obama was Inaugurated into the white house as the first African American president he changed not only America but the entire world. The historical figures on the quilt proves that as Obama goes through his journey as president he remembers the many others great leaders before him that strived to make a difference. One figure i recall is an African american woman in the army. Her presence on the quilt, near Obama, is one example of a being that Obama respects and looks up too as he continues his conquest of changing our nation. Furthermore Obama is not only a symbol of change but a symbol of America as one nation. I draw this conclusion because in addition to the historical figures, the quilt had a copy of the constitution of the United States woven into it.

Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant is an amazing NBA player and is an inspiration to others on and off the court. He made me want to try the same shots he was making in my backyard, yet I didn’t leave until I made the shots. Kobe showed how he is a family man and was able to take criticism when he was accused of felony charges in 2000. Being charged of rape Kobe image of a clean cut person and player had been tarnished throughout the league. Going into other arenas Kobe was booed but managed to maintain being a great player by scoring 40 points or more in eight straight games. During these trails and tribulation Kobe stuck by his wife and daughter buying her a 4 Million dollar engagement ring. Being only the second person to enter the NBA draft after High School. Others thought he was making a huge mistake skipping college but when they seen the success he was having others started following in his footsteps. Since Kobe there have been 30 other high school players who think they could repeat Kobe success.
